LONDON: Manchester City defender Micah Richards says Carlos Tevez
could still end up as a club hero - but he could also turn into a
scapegoat.
The striker returned to
first-team training on Thursday after a brief meeting with manager
Roberto Mancini, the first time they had spoken since the night in
Munich which created the rift, reported the Manchester Evening News.
The Argentinian could be back in action for
next week's home clash with Bolton, and the defender says he has some
hard work ahead in convincing some fans that his return is a good thing.
'The best thing he can do is come back, get his
head down, and if we do end up winning the league and he's played a big
role in that, then I'm sure everyone will forgive him,' Richards said.
'If we don't, it could be the opposite.'
Yaya Toure and Kolo Toure, who have been away for the African Nations Cup, could start against Blackburn today.
